Watchman's Hut, Treherbert, Treherbert, Rhondda Cynon Taff

By the A4061 as you drop down towards Treherbert in the Rhondda Valley is this small bricked-up building. I've seen it described as a 'watchman's hut' elsewhere, but don't know anything of its history.
